Gardenia

On our road trip through the south last summer, GK caught wind of the gardenia flower. Seeing as gardenias are in full bloom right now, I thought I'd cut a few and help GK's place smell amazing for the next few days! While it only takes one of these to fill the room with its aroma, I cut a few more to fill out the vase!

These little flowers were a little top heavy and did not want to stay in the vase. An easy fix, that a florist taught me recently, is to gather your flowers in a bouquet fashion and put a little rubber band, as high up as you can, around the base of the flowers. You can see in the picture how the stems of the flowers are grouped together. To fix this look keep your stems a little longer than I did (I accidentally cut mine too short).
